Their are a few products which clearly outsell many others as far as acne products are concerned. I will not endorse or disclose if I use any if any at all, but I thought it prudent to share with you what so many others may be having success with in the war on acne.
The first product we will take a short look at is called Proactiv. I am absolutely sure you have seen this product hawked by everyone from Jessica Simpson to your local Avon representative. They utilize a three part system which I have briefly outlined below for your viewing pleasure.
Step one will be the obligatory Renewing cleanser they boast:
- A unique, oil-free formulated acne cleanser
- Smooth tiny beads exfoliate dead skin cells and other impurities
- Deep cleaning, prescription-grade peroxide – a grade not available in store-bought brands –penetrates pores, attacks and heals blemishes fast
Step two in this system includes revitalizing toner:
- Refreshing, alcohol-free toner
- Removes plug to eliminate clogged pores
- Helps remove excess oil for refreshed, clear skin, while soothing botanicals gently balance your skin tone
Step three is a repairing lotion:
- A light, oil-free skin-clearing lotion
- Prescription-grade peroxide lotion heals blemishes, and helps prevent new one
If you are to believe the hype than this product surely will make a dent in the war on acne, but before you run out to buy it their are still two more products to take a look at first!
If you were a child of the 80’s like me then you certainly remember the next product. OXY pads. These have changed over the years from just generic alcho pads to something much more sophisticated. They boast the following:

As you can tell many of these products use mostly the same ingredients to achieve the same goal, less or no acne. For some of us though this may be impossible without a dermatologist and some prescription help from them. Do not fret and stay vigilant. The first step to winning the war on acne is being informed.
